Chapman University's nationally recognized Dodge College of Film and Media Arts seeks applications for a tenure track Assistant / Associate Professor of Public Relations and Advertising, beginning August 2019.

Dodge College is ranked #6 in the nation among film schools by The Hollywood Reporter. Housed within the Sodaro-Pankey Undergraduate School of Media Arts, the Public Relations and Advertising degree program has a focus on storytelling for business, incorporating the use of the tools of film, television and the Internet and social media for strategic communications. The Dodge PRA curriculum introduces students to public relations, advertising and then allows them to specialize in one or the other. Faculty duties include teaching both theory and strategic practice in introductory and advanced courses, academic advising, program development and service to the school and university. The teaching load is 5 courses per academic year in addition to continued professional work and/or research and scholarship.
Tenure track faculty are expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda for future tenure consideration and are evaluated on their scholarly/creative activity, teaching and service.
The successful candidate will have teaching and/or industry experience; an advanced degree in advertising, public relations, or a related area, and/or significant management or executive experience in the public relations industry. The successful candidate will be committed to teaching first as well as to continuing his or her own professional work.
