Loyola Marymount University has an opening for an Associate Director of Development in the School of Film and Television. More about the School at SFTV. Under general supervision, this position will develop and implement plans and strategies to increase financial support of the School of Film & Television at the $25,000 – $100,000 level. Maintain and grow existing relationships with volunteers and existing donors, as well as establish new relationships that advance the School’s programs and resources.

Additional responsibilities include: reporting to the Senior Director of Development for the School, establish objectives and key accountabilities, as well as establish, meet, and exceed annual qualitative and quantitative goals to increase donors and dollars raised at the $25,000 – $100,000 level for the School. Develop a prospect pipeline. Determine the most effective means to report progress and provide assessment and analysis on a regular basis. Prepare and deliver annual written plans. Develop and execute effective fundraising strategies in partnership and collaboration with the School’s Senior Director of Development and other members of the development staff, including Corporate and Foundation Relations, other units’ Directors of Development, Planned Giving, Prospect Research, Annual Giving, and Development Information Services. Coordinate strategies for solicitations with university leadership, faculty/staff, and volunteers. In coordination with the Senior Director of Development for the School, actively involve the Dean, department heads, faculty, students, and other stakeholders in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation process as appropriate. Work collaboratively with the School’s Senior Director of Development and members of the Dean’s staff who provide support to the School’s development efforts in the areas of communications, partnerships, outreach, and scholarship selection. Ensure timely stewardship engagement for scholarship donors and awardees. In coordination with the Dean of the School and the Senior Director of Development, assist in the recruitment and development for the School’s volunteer board(s). Provide input and support in relation to major gift development for the volunteer board members in the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship process as appropriate. Ability and willingness to travel as necessary to meet the expressed development goals of the School. Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

We seek candidates who typically a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years’ experience in development or related field, preferably in higher education. Experience in volunteer management. Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of: volunteer management, fundraising, communications and office systems. Demonstrated experience with, the fund raising cycle: identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and prospects. Demonstrated experience within a successful fundraising program. Ability to establish new external relationships and uphold positive internal partnerships. Ability to represent the School by developing familiarity with School’s academic programs, strategic direction, and campaign priorities. Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information, as well as communications that establish and advance relationships. Highly developed organizational and leadership skills. Demonstrated computer competency and preferably knowledgeable of Microsoft, database management systems and social networking sites.
